Automated Blog Carnival Submissions in 4 Easy Steps - Xingla Pro Review

June 25, 2008 by Kenton Newby

If you're not running a blog as part of your online business, then you're really missing out.  Not only are they a great way to provide good content to your customers, but there are also some fantastic ways to get traffic to your site that you'll need a blog to take advantage of.  One of these methods is by submitting to blog carnivals. Here's a tool that makes this even easier, but first…

What the Heck is a "Blog Carnival"

Think of a blog carnival as a "best of" list of blog posts on a specific topic over the last week, month or however often the carnival is published.  This is an effective way to get your message in front of the right audience since most blog carnivals are focused on particular topics can blog carnival publishers (or hosts) are looking for quality, original content.

The Problem With Blog Carnival Submissions

The big problem is that you have to submit your blog posts to each carnival one-by-one.  This isn't difficult, and if you're just starting out, you may choose to keep doing it this way until you build some momentum.  But if you're looking for a way to automate the process, then Xingla Pro (a blog carnival submission software tool) is something you might want to take a look at. Here's how it works.

4 Easy Steps to Automate Your Blog Carnival Submissions

  1. Create a list of carnivals on a specific topic (e.g., internet marketing, scrapbooking, video editing, etc.)
  2. Then use the built-in web browser to fill in the info for your blog carnival just like normal
  3. Instead of pressing the submit button on the site, you press the "Auto Submit" button within the software tool.
  4. This automatically cycles through each of the carnivals in your list, using that same blog post, name, and email address for each carnival…effectively automating the process of submitting to multiple blog carnivals

I did 20 or so blog carnival submissions in about 60 seconds, including filling in the form.

Other Alternatives

That being said, if you're strapped for cash, this isn't a tool you'll absolutely NEED to get right now because you could still do it yourself the old-fashioned way.  It would just take more time to do this manually, especially if you have a large list of blog carnivals in your mraket.

Another alternative would be to use a blog carnival submission service.  This will typically involve a monthly fee which may be cheaper in the short-term but more expensive in the long-term.  I also have to admit that I had some issues using such a service…some of the people submitting on my behalf were adding my site to inappropriate categories.  Very annoying any my apologies to anyone that got a bad submission from this site.

An Obvious Choice

When you consider the extra time it takes to do this manually and the lack of control you have in using a service (not to mention the additional long-term cost), investing in something like Xingla Pro is the obvious choice.  I'm glad I picked it up and it's made this blog promotion strategy so painless that I've started submitting to blog carnivals for some of my other sites too.

I am going to have to take a closer look into blog carnivals. I have heard them mentioned a fair bit lately.

I don't know such software exists. I just spent around half an hour to submit to several blog carnivals.

    Thanks for the info.

I haven't heard of these blog carnivals before… I will have to do some more reading up on them. Thanks for the info and thanks to Jack Keifers for recommending I read this post.

Hi. Thanks from this information. Have only recently heard of blog carnivals. How many carnivals does this submit to and can I add more or are there updates to add more?

    Skip,

Xingla Pro allows you to submit to as many blog carnivals as you want, but you should choose carnivals that are relevant to your topic. You can create new lists and add carnivals to the lists (current carnivals and new ones you find later on).

That part is a little bit time consuming, but you only have to do it once (or every once in awhile for updates) so I think it's time well spent.

    Hope that helps.

Thanks for the info. I don't think I will be able to run this program though :( as I am on Linux.
